Halloween Pumpkin Scrub

 Pumpkin skincare recipe

With Halloween comes pumpkins and with pumpkins, comes pumpkin guts and scary faces carefully crafted. Pumpkins always look stunning once they’re carved up but so often, the best bit, the flesh is, discarded and wasted.

No longer! We’ve got an easy to make beauty recipe that will soften the skin and get rid of witchy dead cells. Did you know pumpkin is full of AHAs (alpha hydroxyl acids) which are fabulous for getting rid of those old skin cells that can make you look like a Halloween witch? It also contains zinc which can help prevent and reduce the inflammation and scarring associated with acne. By reducing the amount of natural oil (sebum) produced in the skin, a topical application of zinc can also help reduce the onset of spots. Pumpkins also contain vitamin A and vitamin C which nourish the skin, help reduce wrinkles and smooth roughness.

In this pumpkin beauty recipe, we’ve also got yoghurt which is rich in lactic acid and a natural exfoliator and ground almonds or oats which will help stimulate the skin and get blood flowing. By the end of this, you’ll feel refreshed and as though you’ve got new skin!

  • 2 tablespoons of cooked and mashed pumpkin
  • 2 tablespoons of plain Greek yoghurt
  • 1 tablespoon ground almonds or oats)

Making your pumpkin scrub

  1. Mix everything up together well in a bowl.
  2. Apply the scrub to your face and let it rest there for a few minutes to allow the ingredients to start to soften dead skin cells.
  3. Make gentle circular movements with your fingers around your face. This will gently remove the dead, dull cells.
  4. Wash off with warm water and pat try with a clean towel.
  5. Your face will feel refreshed and flawless!
